Today we shipped Transition's WHOOP integration. Connect WHOOP in Settings → Connected Accounts and your overnight data flows into Transition automatically, every morning, with nothing to log.

If you already trust WHOOP to tell you how your body handled yesterday, your training plan and coach should know that too.

Why this matters

The hardest call in endurance training is often whether to follow the plan exactly or adjust to what your body can absorb today. That decision depends on context: where your HRV sits against your normal, whether your resting heart rate is elevated, and how much restorative sleep you actually got.

Recovery Intelligence is Transition's read on that context. It compares your overnight HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep with your own baselines — not population averages — and gives your coach a clearer view of how recovered you are alongside your recent training load.

WHOOP is built around those overnight signals. Bringing them into Transition closes the gap between the device that knows how you recovered and the coach deciding what comes next.

What syncs

  • Sleep — duration, sleep stages, and sleep performance
  • HRV — your overnight rMSSD heart rate variability
  • Resting heart rate — your overnight resting heart rate
  • Recovery — WHOOP's daily Recovery score, available alongside the raw signals

Transition uses the raw overnight signals to calculate Recovery Intelligence against your personal baselines. Your WHOOP Recovery score stays clearly attributed as WHOOP's own measure, giving your coach another useful piece of context without blending two different scoring systems together.

If you have more than one health source connected, Transition selects one source per signal rather than double-counting the same night. When WHOOP data is available, it takes priority for overnight recovery metrics.

Your WHOOP data, in Claude too

Transition is also a Claude connector. Connect WHOOP to Transition, connect Transition to Claude, and your recovery data can join the same conversation as your training plan.

Ask "how is my recovery trending this week?" or "I slept badly — should I still do today's intervals?" Claude can pull your Transition recovery status and health summary — now informed by WHOOP — together with your scheduled training.

How to connect

  1. Update to the latest version of Transition.
  2. Open SettingsConnected Accounts.
  3. Tap WHOOP and sign in with your WHOOP account.

That's it. Transition backfills your recent overnight data, then keeps it current as WHOOP publishes new sleep and recovery records. Disconnect anytime from the same screen.

WHOOP is a health-data connection: it brings recovery and sleep context into Transition, but it does not import completed workouts or receive planned workouts.

One coach, more of the context that matters

WHOOP joins Oura, Garmin, Apple Health, and COROS as another way to give Transition a more complete picture of the athlete behind the plan.
