Race-day tips

  • Lay everything out the night before and photograph your transition set-up β€” it's the quickest way to spot a missing item.
  • Nothing new on race day. Only pack kit, shoes, and nutrition you've already tested in training.
  • Set your helmet upside down with the straps open on top of your bike shoes so you never forget to fasten it.
  • Check the water temperature and race rules the week before β€” wetsuit legality and cap colours can change your swim kit.
  • Pack a small zip-lock bag for your phone, keys and ID so they stay dry in your transition bag.
